Safeguarding Policy
Safeguarding means protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults — particularly those who may not have a voice — from harm, abuse, or neglect. It is a fundamental commitment that ensures everyone can thrive in a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment. At Engine House Church, we take this responsibility seriously, aiming to create a culture where everyone is protected, valued, and supported.
Statement of Commitment to Safeguarding
Engine House Church, as part of the Elim network, is committed to building healthy churches and safe spaces for all. We acknowledge the risks and challenges faced by children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and we intentionally work to minimize opportunities for harm.
Children depend on adults to keep them safe. That’s why we dedicate ourselves to creating a secure, stable, and encouraging environment where young people can grow and flourish.
We also recognize that adults within our community may need care, protection, or support, whether permanently or temporarily. Trusting relationships thrive best in an atmosphere of openness, transparency, and accountability.
We firmly believe safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Every person involved in the life and activities of Engine House Church plays a role in keeping others safe.
